Scholarship Fund
The Society of Honorary Police Surgeons of the City of New York Scholarship Fund provides monetary awards for dependent children or spouses of active and retired uniformed members of the NYPD who are currently attending or have been accepted to Graduate Schools within the health care professions (e.g. medical, dental, nursing, physician assistants, clinical psychology, etc.)
We fund these scholarships in honor of former New York City Police Department Supervising Chief Surgeons, Dr. Clarence G. Robinson and Dr. Robert E. Thomas. Multiple scholarships are awarded with varying amounts for qualified applicants.
This award is NOT administered by the Department. However, the application period is announced annually via Department Bulletin.
Requirements and eligibility
Dependent child or spouse of active or retired uniformed members of the service pursuing a degree in a health care related profession (e.g., medical, dental, nursing, physician assistants, clinical psychology).
Candidate must be presently enrolled in or accepted by an accredited graduate-level program.
